Bruny Island Gourmet Trail

布鲁尼岛美食一日游

from AUD $135

THE EXPERIENCE

Bruny Island is Tasmania in miniature — two land masses joined by a thread of sand, ringed by cold-water oyster farms, cheese sheds, and a beekeeper who still hand-pours every jar. This is a flavour-led day rather than a sightseeing one, with stops timed for tasting rather than ticking off a list. Watch for the rare white wallaby in Adventure Bay — Bruny is one of the only places on earth where this colour morph survives in the wild.

THE JOURNEY

Detailed Itinerary

01

Kettering Ferry Terminal

凯特灵渡轮码头

A 20-minute crossing from the Tasmanian mainland delivers you to Bruny. The ride itself is the prelude — keep an eye out for fairy penguins and white-bellied sea eagles along the channel.

02

Get Shucked

Get Shucked 生蚝吧

Oysters lifted that morning from the lease beds outside the window, shucked while you wait. Best eaten plain with a squeeze of lemon — the cold southern waters do all the work.

03

Bruny Island Cheese Co.

布鲁尼岛奶酪农场

Wood-fired sourdough served with a tasting flight of the island's signature cheeses — including the famed C2, washed in beer brewed on the same property.

04

Bruny Island Honey Pot

蜂蜜店

Leatherwood honey from Tasmania's western forests, plus rare manuka and prickly box varieties. A small selection of beeswax skincare and souvenirs worth bringing home.

05

The Neck Lookout

南北一线眺望台

Climb the wooden steps to the top of the isthmus that joins North and South Bruny. Twin beaches stretch in opposite directions — one of Tasmania's most distinctive views.

06

Bruny Bread Box

冰箱面包

An honesty-system roadside fridge selling fresh-baked bread on a self-serve basis — drop coins in the slot, take a loaf. A small thing that says everything about the island's culture.

07

Adventure Bay

冒险湾

Once a stopover for Cook, Bligh, and other explorers — now best known for its rare white wallaby population. Bring patience and a quiet step; sightings are common but not guaranteed.
