MEET YOUR GUIDE

Less a driver. Less a translator.

More a storyteller with a steady wheel.

Ryan · Founder & Lead Guide

THE STORY

Why Tasmania

Ryan didn't come to Tasmania to run tours. He came for the wilderness — the dolerite cliffs, the empty beaches, the rainforest gullies that haven't changed in 40,000 years.

After enough seasons walking the trails himself, the obvious next step was sharing them. He earned his Wilderness First Aid certification, trained on AED defibrillator use, and registered Aurora Chaser as a fully licensed Tasmanian operator.

Today, he leads small private groups in Mandarin, Cantonese, or English — weaving local history, geology, and Aboriginal heritage into every stop along the way.

WHAT YOU CAN COUNT ON

Six Promises

Every guest gets the same six commitments — without exception.

01

Licensed & Insured

Accredited operator · AUD 20 million liability

Aurora Chaser Tours Tasmania is a registered Australian company holding accredited commercial passenger transport, full commercial vehicle insurance, and AUD 20 million public liability cover. A first-aid kit travels in the vehicle on every route.

02

A New Sprinter, Four to Ten Guests

2025 high-roof Mercedes-Benz

Room to stand, room to spread out, and a group small enough that nobody waits on anybody. On multi-day routes that cross the island, the vehicle stops being a detail and starts being most of the day.

03

Thoughtful Provisions

Built into the vehicle, not the pitch

Bottled water, sunscreen, wet wipes, tissues, and phone charging are stocked in every vehicle. Small things, but the kind of small things that quietly make a long day feel effortless.

04

Stories, Not Just Sights

Mandarin · Cantonese · English

Every stop comes with depth — wildlife, geology, convict history, and why the aurora behaves the way it does. We're not driving you between locations; we're walking you through Tasmania's narrative one chapter at a time.

05

Walking With You

Maria Island · Cradle Mountain · and beyond

For walking-heavy days like Maria Island or Dove Lake, Ryan accompanies you on the trails — not waiting in the car park. Pace is set by the slowest walker, never the fastest.

06

One Rate, No Tipping

Service fee included · Airport transfer included

Park entries, ferries, admissions and the driver-guide's service fee are built into a single rate, and nothing is expected at the end of the day. Arrivals landing in Hobart before 9 AM are collected from the airport at no extra charge.

WHEREVER YOU CALL HOME

In Three Languages

Mandarin

普通话

For travellers from mainland China, Singapore, or anywhere Mandarin feels like home.

Cantonese

廣東話

For visitors from Hong Kong, Macau, or the Cantonese diaspora across the world.

English

Native fluency

For Australian, North American, European, and any English-speaking guests joining the journey.

“The same story, told in the language closest to your heart — that's where translation ends and storytelling begins.”
